The School of Computer, Data, and Mathematical Sciences recently hosted the 3MT competition, which awarded second place to Ms. Lakmini Wijesekara for her presentation titled “Spatiotemporal Data Analysis to Identify Environmental Risk Factors Associated with Diabetes.” During her presentation, Ms. Wijesekara detailed her methodology for pre-processing data and analyzing the environmental factors that are linked to diabetes. Her research provides valuable insights into the relationship between environmental factors and diabetes, and has potential implications for the broader field of public health.
